PAY RATE: $15.00/hr

30 hours per week

The Bus Driver is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of each child enrolled in the program by following all policies and procedures listed in the YMCA Transportation Policy guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Serves as a role model to members and Y staff and, at all times lives the mission, vision and values of the YMCA movement.
2. To model the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and facilitate the teaching of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in Y programs.
3. Provide "extraordinary" member services and responsiveness to members needs.
4. Provide direct supervision to children on your bus as well as other program participants at all times.
5. Dress according to the Scott County Family Y dress code, and demonstrate professionalism in executing tasks.
6. Ensure safety to all participants, including knowledge of emergency procedures and location of emergency equipment.
7. Maintain a clean and safe bus by completing daily check of bus and requesting repairs as needed to ensure a clean and safe environment.
8. Prepares incident reports accurately, consistently and in accordance with established timelines. Communicate to supervisor in writing, accident and discipline situations which require corrective actions. Seek guidance from supervisor in unusual circumstances.
9. Participate in and solicit others to participate in necessary YMCA financial development efforts, specifically the Annual Campaign.
10. Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements.
11. Adherence to all policies and procedures of the YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley.
12. Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations including knowledge of emergency procedures and location of emergency equipment.
13. Regular and timely adherence to respective schedule/meetings
14. All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of one year driving experience
3. Must have valid CDL class B drivers license with a passenger endorsement
4. DOT physical

CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to pass background check
2. CPR /AED/First Aid Certification*
3. Mandatory Reporter*
*Note: If not currently certified, must obtain certification within 30 days of hire. All the above certification training programs are provided by the YMCA staff.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to stand or sit for long periods each day, must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must be able to walk and climb stairs in order to assist children in loading and unloading from bus.
